Brief course description
In this course students will learn the operating requirements of flying an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle inside the United States National Airspace System. We will cover the topics of basic rules and regulations to ensure a safe operation, how to read aeronautical charts, concepts of Crew Resource Management, and basic aerodynamics. By the end of this course each student should be prepared to take the Remote Pilot Certificate Written Exam. Each student will have access to all Powerpoint presentations in the course lectures, a Premium Membership to coloaerials.com, and access to the Facebook group Professional Drone Operators. This course will be approximately 7 hours long, and will start will the basic fundaments of the rules and regulations set forth by the FAA for UAS/UAV operation. Students should take this course to help prepare them for the FAA written test for a Remote Pilot Certificate to operate a UAS/UAV commercially, or as a hobbyist looking to further their knowlegede of UAS/UAV operation.
After completing this course, students have the ability to take 2 sample tests with questions released form the FAA Sample Test Question Bank. These questions will be given in quiz format, and then reviewed in a series of lectures explaining the answer.
Included in this course, are PDF downloads for the Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge, The Aeronautical Chart User’s Guide, and Aviation Weather for Pilots, all free of charge.
