Brief course description

A few years ago I took the plunge and bought myself a 3D printer. Since then I’ve been teaching other people how to 3D print at home. If you’re interested in 3D printing but haven’t bought your own printer yet, this course is definitely for you.

In this course I’ll teach you what 3D printers are, how they work, how to purchase one and how to use it to create amazing 3D prints of your own. Many people are a little too scared to buy their first printer because they don’t know really know what’s involved in running one. I felt like this myself once.

I now know exactly what’s involve and that’s what I’ll teach you in this course. I’ll also demonstrate how to design a simple chess piece using two free design tools, Tinkercad and OpenSCAD. This’ll give you a feel for what’s involved in inventing and designing your own products.

Jason King bio

In 1998 I attained a First Class degree in Software Engineering at De Montfort University. Since then I have been developing high integrity software for a number of well known international companies. I am the owner of Tycoon Software Ltd for my freelance software work. In 2012 I also created 3D Print Headquarters as a vehicle for me to teach all aspects of 3D printing, primarily to beginners. I now like to combine my software skills with my interest in 3D printing by teaching OpenSCAD, which is a free parametric programming language used to create precision 3D models.
